Il Parco di S. Antonio La Macchia è ubicato in una zona periferica della città.
Dopo il sisma del 1980, a seguito dell’inagibilità dell’edificio del Comune di Potenza a Piazza Matteotti nel centro storico della Città, la sede municipale venne trasferita in una struttura esistente, adibita ad uffici, al Parco Sant’Antonio La Macchia, dove tuttora è insediata la struttura tecnica e diverse direzioni amministrative, nelle vicinanze della sede regionale della Croce Rossa.
Nella suddetta zona sorge una Chiesa, dedicata a Sant’Antonio la Macchia. La piccola chiesetta sorge nel bel mezzo del parco, rappresenta un eremo fra la fitta vegetazione. L’edificio ha una facciata in blocchi di pietra squadrata, con un piccolo portico antistante l’ingresso principale.
La chiesa ha un tozzo e basso campanile quadrangolare di pietra squadrata e una bifora di gusto romanico.
The Park of S. Antonio La Macchia is located in a peripheral area of the city.
After the earthquake of 1980, following the unusability of the building of the Municipality of Potenza in Piazza Matteotti in the historic center of the city, the municipal seat was transferred to an existing structure, used as offices, in Sant’Antonio La Macchia Park, where the technical structure and several administrative departments are still established, near the regional headquarters of the Red Cross.
In the aforementioned area there is a church, dedicated to Sant’Antonio la Macchia.
The small church stands in the middle of the park, it represents a hermitage among the thick vegetation. The building has a square stone block facade, with a small porch in front of the main entrance.
The church has a squat and low quadrangular bell tower of squared stone and a mullioned window of Romanesque taste.
